Description
AN42 Game Update Lock is a lightweight Windows utility designed for players who want more control over when their Steam games update. Currently built specifically for Grand Theft Auto V and American Truck Simulator, the app allows you to protect selected games from unwanted Steam updates while still keeping Steam running.
This is especially useful for modded games, where an unexpected update can break mods, plugins, scripts, or other custom installations. AN42 Game Update Lock provides live Steam-aware protection, simple lock/unlock controls, activity monitoring, and optional portable backups. Full game backups can be exported into a single .an42backup file and stored on another drive, then imported later when you need to restore your files.
Designed with a clean AN42-themed interface, the goal is simple: you decide when your games are ready to update—not Steam.
